"Upcycling is the process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value." (Wikipedia).
This page is dedicated to ideas for reuse of products that most people would either recycle or just throw in the garbage. Innovative ideas gathered together to help reduce our waste and inspire others to do the same!
Some examples are:.
-Using a glass jar to buy items in bulk. Most grocery stores do not have a problem with this if your jar is pre-weighed before filling the jar with your bulk item, such as trail mix.
-Use a reuseable bag at the grocery store
-Saving dead batteries and light bulbs to return to a store or to a college campus, such as SUNY ESF
-Using old cans and bottles (soup, coffee, pop etc.) as planters for indoor herbs, vegetables or succulents.
-Use an empty paper towel roll for a biodegradable planter.
We would like to hear from our readers and followers on ways that you recycle or reuse your items!
We are trying to help spread the word on how to reuse items in a manner that many people would not think of.
